This was one of the greatest and
most elaborate French parade
armors produced by Giovan Paolo
Negroli for Henry II of France
in 1545. The original armor,
made of steel & gold, is also
the only complete one being
delicately decorated with
emobssed foliate scrollwork and
a variety of fabulous creatures
derived from Italian grotesque.
The helmet design and the
crescent-shaped pattern on the
armor body are valiant bearings
of Henry II.
